About Us

Sam Lanza began his dream when he picked up a 1958 "Brownie" camera.

At the young age of eight, Sam became the family photographer of a proud family that immigrated to America from Sicily. Wherever Sam went, the "Brownie" camera followed.

While working full time, he furthered his education at various community colleges earned a Graphic Art Certificate and an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Photography from College of DuPage and later pursued and received a Business Management Degree at National Lewis University. In 1997, Sam left the corporate world to pursue professional photography full time, starting Lanza Portrait Design..

Sam's wife, Marie, joined him fulltime in 2003. Today, Lanza Portrait Design studio in Bloomingdale is flourishing.

People have their own story and the key to success is to learn from the masters to create master images. The Lanza's are proud to create "Images from the Heart." They understand what it means to create beautiful images with their hearts, with their souls and with a life-long passion of capturing the essence of a person.

Sam is past President and current proud member of the Professional Photographers Association of Northern Illinois (PPANI), Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Senior Photographers International (SPI), and Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce. Sam has been a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) by PPA.
